Clicks & leaderboard
On Shipit, a strong launch isn't who rounded up the most upvotes. It's who got curious people to actually open the product. We use clicks to your website as the main signal. Upvotes aren't the game here.

What counts
When someone hits the outbound link on your card and lands on your URL, we count it toward ranking. That's the bar: did they leave Shipit to see what you built?
Promoted slots can show in the feed too. That's separate from organic order. Organic placement is driven by clicks (and for "today," a little help for brand-new posts so they aren't invisible before the first visit; see below).
The "today" feed
Everything launching today is sorted by traction from clicks, with a small recency nudge so something that just went live isn't stuck at the bottom before anyone's had a chance to tap. Same idea across yesterday / this week / last week / last month: same signal, different date windows.
Gaming & bots
Clicks can be faked; we know. Today we rate-limit track requests per IP and product so dumb scripts can't pump numbers. We'll add more over time. When we do, we'll say so here.
If caching hiccups, we may briefly relax limits so the site stays up. That's uptime, not apathy. We still care about fair play.
Why we bother
Vote leaderboards reward coordination. Click-through rewards interest: someone who wanted to see the thing. That's the launch culture we're building. We'll keep this page honest as the system evolves.
